This season, we are emerging from lockdown and cricketing hibernation with a new look. Following the huge success of the senior merger two years ago to form North East Cheshire Cricket Club, otherwise known as The Jets, our juniors will now take the same name.
As a thriving junior section, we will continue everything we have been doing to provide cricket for boys and girls in the area. We remain at the heart of the community in Poynton and Disley and can now benefit from the additional facilities, which enables us to offer more matches throughout the season, better training and more fun!
Having two grounds is a huge advantage to us as a club, looking to build on the success of recent seasons, allowing as many children as possible to enjoy playing matches in the Cheshire County Cricket League and Cheshire High Peak League. We are also expanding 2020's Mini Jets section for children aged 5 to 9 and the rest of the juniors will come under the NECCC name by which our seniors are now known.
As one club, we aim to lay out a pathway for our juniors to progress as they grow older towards adult cricket. We already have quite a few of our older juniors showing the senior Jets how it’s done.
So after the frustrations and the difficulties of the past year, we’re excited to start a new season with a new identity for our juniors and we’re looking forward to lots of long summer days and evenings playing and watching cricket in the sunshine.
Up the Jets!
