Each spring we run winter nets sessions in preparation for the new season. Our Senior and Academy sides use the purpose built facilities at Total Cricket, Ashton. The Poynton Junior sides hold their winter net sessions at Cheadle Hulme School and our ladies’ squad train throughout the winter at Hulme Hall School.
During the season, training takes place at our Poynton ground. Seniors train on Thursday evenings. Our U14/15s train on a Wednesday evening at the ground whilst the rest of Poynton Juniors train together on a Friday evening which has a great family atmosphere. The ladies’ team trains through the summer on a Wednesday evening.
At times NECCC & PJCC may choose to hold training sessions at our Disley site, particularly if coaches want to work on specific skills. This is particularly relevant to the junior age groups if the coaches need a little more space.
Our Senior teams play in the Cheshire Integrated League Structure, with the 1stXI, 2ndXI, and 3rdXI playing on Saturday's and the 4thXI on a Sunday. Home fixtures for the 1st, 2nd and 4thXI's will generally be at our Poynton ground, 3rd and Academy XI matches at our Disley ground. Our Legends team have mid-week, Wednesday fixtures with home games played at our Poynton site. More details can be found with in our Match Centre.
As this is the first season for our ladies, their fixtures will be flexible, on various days depending on pitch availability and opposition. The ladies will play a mix of friendly fixtures and enter the Cheshire Soft Ball League later in the season.
Poynton Junior teams play across both sites in both the Cheshire County Junior Cricket Leagues and the Cheshire High Peak Junior Cricket Leagues. Each teams home games are generally played on the same day each week but away fixtures can vary due to the availability of the opposition’s pitch.
