2025 Overseas Player: Bailey Jenkinson

2025 Overseas Player: Bailey Jenkinson
26 Feb 2025

The Jets are delighted to confirm the signing of Australian Bailey Jenkinson as the Club’s 2025 overseas player. The Victorian is an accomplished all-round cricketer, combining fluent left-handed strokeplay with frontline right-arm off-spin and an athletic presence in the field. The 23 year-old also boasts strong leadership credentials, currently in the midst of his third season as First Grade captain of North Warrnambool Cricket Club.

Bailey boasts an exceptional record in country cricket, twice voted into the Warrnambool District Cricket Association Team of the Season and awarded the association’s Best U21 Player medal in 2021. In the same year he was also man of the match in the competition’s One Day Grand Final thanks to a match-winning 83 with the bat and miserly bowling figures of 0-15 from 9 overs.

Senior rep cricket honours inevitably followed and he has been equally successful with bests of 77* with the bat and 5-17 with the ball in WDCA colours. He has represented the region on multiple occasions at Melbourne Country Week, again selected for the 2025 edition held in February where he finished as the association’s top wicket-taker with eight scalps at 16.38 and best figures of 4-26.

In the 23/24 season Bailey made a career-best for North Warrnambool when he carried his bat in a one day outing for an immaculate unbeaten 145* from 139 deliveries, striking nineteen fours and one maximum. It was a format he enjoyed as he finished the season as the league’s leading limited overs run scorer with his 400 runs coming at an even 50 apiece. He has also been a consistent performer with the ball across all formats with five-wicket hauls to his name in both red-ball and white-ball cricket.

As a standout junior player, Jenkinson represented Victoria Country at the U15 and U17 Australian National Championships before Covid saw the U19 event cancelled. He enjoyed a particularly fruitful U17 carnival in 2018, registering half-centuries against New South Wales Metro, New South Wales Country, Western Australia and hosts Queensland on his way to 294 runs at 36.75. This meant a push to Victoria Premier Cricket with Geelong as a teenager with some highlights - bests of 41 & 5-37 - before injury and the travel commitment forced a return to local cricket.

We look forward to welcoming Bailey to the club in April and wish him the best of luck for the remainder of the Australian season in both North Warrnambool and WDCA colours.
