What a brilliant start to the summer for the girls! The photo above shows the U11/13s at the stunning ground in Langley keeping their 100% winning record, always keeping slightly ahead in the match until five wickets in the last two overs confirmed the win.
The U9s to U15s girls have started this season with maximum enthusiasm and effort on Wednesday evenings alongside mixing in on a Friday session with the boys, where the U8s girls and below also get to train. The drills and practice matches have stood the girls in good stead for the league matches they are participating in.
Their team spirit is exceptional, everybody looks out for each other and they play hard but fair, celebrating their success but being respectful and friendly towards their opposition. They all want to improve, which is the most important quality we look for as coaches plus every player takes on whatever challenge we throw at them.
Some of the girls have had the opportunity to play in the Cheshire district hard ball matches which has been evident this season with improvements in bowling techniques, batting skills and being confident in the field, working on our principle of ‘Keeping it to One’.
Overall, the girls continue to make the game of cricket a pleasure to watch and their smiles are contagious!
