Jets U13 Girls Thunder scored a big win in the hardball league at a sun-baked Disley. After scoring a daunting 124 off 20 overs, an all round excellent bowling and fielding performance saw Georgians restricted to a single boundary whilst 10 wickets fell.
It was easily our best batting performance of the season with Praanjol and Matilda, Eliza and Georgina plus Abi and Alice all scoring more than 25 in their pairs. This was built on a great opening 20 from Gracie and Hannah, with Gracie hitting two of the first three balls for four and Hannah cutting the ball square on the offside.
Georgians started reasonably well with 16 for their first pair, but Megan and Ivy killed the game off for Georgians with a devastating six wickets in the next four overs, Ivy returning 2-8 and Megan 4-3. This left the opposition needing to score 128 off the remaining 12 overs and they ended up falling a long way short, losing another four wickets in the process.
Another real improvement from the team, particularly in terms of the non-striking batter backing up really positively, looking to get runs at every opportunity.
