North East Cheshire Cricket Club are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a grant of £5,920 as part of the Sport England National Lottery funding Return to Play scheme. Thanks in particular to Junior Chairman Huw Ricketts for his role in fronting the successful application.
This funding will help support the expansion of the club’s equipment and coaching qualifications to ensure that the Jets can continue to improve their cricket programme in 2021 once lockdown is lifted.
The project is primarily aimed at the support and engagement of entry-level junior and women & girl cricketers, providing newly procured protective equipment to reduce the financial barrier to entry.
The club will also be supporting the development of new ECB Foundation 1 and Level 2 coaches. With Covid-19 restrictions expected to continue, expansion of the coaching team will allow us to safely offer quality cricket coaching to more members via small group delivery.
Keep an eye out for more upcoming announcements about the coaching offering for the 2021 season. Anyone interested in taking up a coaching qualification is encouraged to email juniors@neccc.co.uk to express their interest.
