North East Cheshire Cricket Club is pleased to confirm that work has now commenced to replace the existing net facility at our London Road site. The club has appointed Stuart Canvas and Grahams who will be working in tandem to install a brand new three-lane facility in the coming weeks.
This will be positioned in the same location as the current nets and will take up the same footprint but with elongated netting per lane, providing a safer area in which to practice as well as an improved playing surface.
As the installation is weather-dependent, there is currently no confirmed completion date but we hope to announce the opening of the new nets as soon as possible. For impact on senior and junior training during this time please consult your usual team/age group contact and keep an eye on the club’s Spond app.
This project will provide a much-needed modernisation of the practice facilities as part of the executive committee’s continued ambition to invest and promote cricket in the area. However, this has come at considerable expense and without any grant support. North East Cheshire Cricket Club is a non-profit organisation which is reliant on member support to continue to operate.
As a result, we would appeal to all connections of the club to assist in our fundraising efforts. The easiest way to help the club achieve its target of raising £10,000 in 2022 is to join the quarterly draw for the Jets Jackpot.
If you wish to help run any events, possess any sponsorship contacts, or have any other fundraising ideas then please email the Fundraising Officer.
