Sunday lived up to its name as the NECCC Women headed to Stockport CC for their Prosecco Festival in the glorious sunshine; the pink arms and faces may have declared the day a little too hot by the end.
The Jets fielded two teams in the event with a good mix of players in both age and experience. As inclusion has been the focus of this season, it was great to see so many new players crossing the boundary rope and enjoying several fun games of cricket. Special mention to Jodi Horobin for stepping (barefoot) in at the very last minute to make up the numbers for the last match.
Once again, the final game of the day pitched two NECCC teams against each other. With a bit of shuffling about of the teams, the girls once again faced their elders with youth winning this time round.
The NECCC Hurricanes team came top of their group, bringing home a trophy but their victory is dedicated to Karen Hartley who ended the day in A&E as her catch didn’t exactly go to plan. Ouch!
On the day, the Jets teams included three mums playing with their daughters, making this sunny Sunday a great family day out for all.
